founded The Major Group, LLC

Steve was a retired Major in the United States Army. Originally, he worked with the Gatesway Foundation as a Transportation Consultant and later became the Director of Vocational Services. During his tenure with Gatesway Steve realized how much he enjoyed this line of work and had knowledge he desired to share with others.
It was at Gatesway that Robin and Steve met. In the course of the eight years after Steve started working with Gatesway the Vocational Program grew substantially. Robin began with Gatesway in 1987 and was responsible for starting their Supported Employment Program. For the next sixteen years Gatesway’s Supported Employment Program grew into one of the largest programs in the State of Oklahoma.
In 2003, sharing the vision of providing employment opportunities for persons with disabilities, Steve and Robin decided to step out on their own and build a business together. Since that beginning, The Major Group currently serves over 45 individuals who work in either individual jobs or with businesses that The Major Group has contracted with.
It's the goal of The Major Group to give people with developmental disabilities the opportunity to work in a rewarding and fulfilling job. The Major Group is excited that through our efforts an often unnoticed labor pool can make a productive and beneficial contribution to their community.
Steve Clark passed away in March of 2007 from a courageous battle with cancer. Although unable to see the growth of The Major Group in present day, his spirit, courage, and strength are with us always. It is in the strength of his memory that we continue to be inspired day after day.
