How the Program Works - When you use your ticket, you can get help through The Major Group in finding a job, vocational rehabilitation, or other assistance. As an Employment Network (which can be a private organization or government agency) The Major Group has agreed to work with Social Security to provide employment services and other support to beneficiaries with disabilities and state vocational rehabilitation agencies. What is an Employment Network? - Employment Networks are organizations such as The Major Group that can help you find a job and provide other employment services, at no cost to you. What Happens if The Major Group and I Agree to Work Together? - The Major Group will work with you to develop a plan that is right for you. The plan will state your goals for the type of work you want to do, and may include the amount of money you want to earn. The plan also will state exactly what services The Major Group will provide to help you reach your goals. In addition, the plan will explain your rights under the program. Adapted from: www.socialsecurity.gov Ticket to Work (additional info) The Ticket to Work Program is designed to expand the options available for Social Security disability beneficiaries to access the services and supports necessary to obtain, regain, or maintain employment, reducing dependency on cash benefits. To ensure participants have choices of appropriate services, this program is operated through a network of national service providers called Employment Networks of which the Major Group is associated. In response to the needs of Employment Networks for upfront capital to support services, MAXIMUS, the Operations Support Manager for the Social Security Administration’s Ticket to Work Program, is operating an Employment Networks Capitalization Funding Project. The purpose of this project is to enable organizations such as the Major Group to participate in the Ticket to Work Program through the provision of information and resources that enhance Employment Networks capacity to successfully access a variety of funding sources.
